Hello WADA members,
We are truly living through history right now. What we are experiencing will definitely be in history books for the next generation! We hope all of you and your families continue to be safe, healthy, and managing the Shelter at Home mandate well.
The COVID-19 ordeal has caused NEW issues, postponements and cancellations for all of us, so it should not be surprising to you that we are communicating to you the changes in the summer LTI program. As you likely already have heard, the WADA Golf Outing has been cancelled. Along with that, the LTI Summer Institute scheduled for July has also been cancelled, including the CAA Exam. For those of you who were planning to take the CAA Exam at the Golf Outing on July 15th you have two options. First, wait to take the exam in the Fall at the WADA conference (hopefully we will have this in person) OR you can take the CAA Exam online via the NIAAA. The benefit of taking it online via the NIAAA, is that you can take it whenn it works for you. You select the date with the NIAAA.
Melissa and I are working on a plan to offer some LTI courses via Zoom on July 21 and 22.n Courses and instructors are pending and will be communicated out as soon as we have all details finalized, including the Zoom process. You would be emailed a digital course manual to use/follow during the Zoom course. Stay tuned for more information on this as it becomes available!
Finally, another reminder that the NIAAA is currently offering many daytime webinars of various LTI courses during the COVID-19 quarantine. They are also offering online workshops on various topics. These workshops are FREE. This is a great opportunity to engage in some professional development and also to engage with colleagues from around the country. Right now, we all need some interaction with others outside of our own homes. See the NIAAA website niaaa.org
for more information.
